Judge Sanji Mmasenono Monageng Elected Member of the Advisory Committee on Nominations of Judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC)

Judge Sanji Mmasenono Monageng has been elected as a member of the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) Advisory Committee on the Nominations of Judges.

Her election was made during the 20th Session of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which was held from 6th to 10th December 2021, in the Hague, the Netherlands.

Ms. Monageng will serve as a member of the Committee for a three -year term (December 2021 to December 2023).

The Advisory Committee is mandated with the critical responsibility of facilitating appointment of the highest caliber of qualifying judges to the ICC. The Committee comprises of nine (9) States Parties members who are appointed based on the various global legal systems, gender balance, equitable geographic representation and candidates’ competence and experience in criminal or international law. …See full article
